What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis can be seen as deep state of relaxation and concentration, where the mind enters an Alpha brainwave state. The Alpha brain wave state occurs normally just before falling asleep and is a dreamy, pleasant state to be in. The mind is more open to visualizations, suggestion, creating rich sensory experiences, whilst being intensely focused and concentrated.
The client goes into a cooperative interaction with the hypnotherapist (who is responsible for inducing hypnosis).
As the client is in an absorbed state of hypnosis, their thoughts, talents and experiences can be tapped into in ways not usually available to them.
